Back-to-school fashion show features M.D. Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital patients and docs
With school bells ringing across the city, what better time for a back-to-school fashion show? And what more likely beneficiary than the M.D. Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital, where young patients dream of getting out of bed and back to the classroom.
For the third year, the Galleria teamed up with Anderson and its docs and youthful patients for a fall frolic on the runway, this midday event taking place in Galleria IV in the Nordstrom wing.
Providing the latest in top-tier school fashions for the models were Naartjie, The Children's Place, Gapkids, Monsoon Children and OshKosh while Macy's and Brooks Brothers provided seasonal attire for the grown-ups on the catwalk.
As many as 300 parents and kids watched the fashion show and joined in the family fun that included face painters, balloon artists, interactive Lego activities, a photo booth, Houston Crime Stoppers child safety fingerprinting and more.
Donations were collected for the M.D. Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital.
Key adult players in the day included M.D. Anderson representatives Janet McCloskey and Tanya Ellenberg plus Dr. Holly Green, Dr. La’Travia Brooks, Dr. Cesar Nunez, Galleria director of marketing Jenny Harris and assistant marketing director Colin Moussa.
