Fashion crowd scouts out hot trends for fall at runway show featuring cool looks
What: Neiman Marcus Trend Report fashion show.
Where:Neiman Marcus.
The 411: All seats were filled, wtih additional standing room only, around the snow-white catwalk at the luxury retailer's Galleria store as Houston's fashion set got a glimpse of what's hot for fall. The runway show featured dozens of looks, ranging from those aimed at slightly cooler weather to full-on wintry styles as Neiman Marcus modernist apparel buyer Lori Caplin and designer handbags buyer Kel Rowe explained the thinking behind each style.
Front row regulars, dressed in designer duds, sipped champagne and nibbled on light bites, while alternately applauding and sometimes gasping in delight as the models walked by in eye-catching attire (an $8,000 Valentino multi-colored fur handbag drew particular oohs and ahhs).
We'll go in more detail about must-haves for fall in an upcoming story, but here's a hint: Think all-red and winter white, along with a folkloric, back-to-the '70s vibe.
Who: Among those compiling their fall shopping lists were Karina Barbieri, Donae Chramosta, Varda Dror, Penny Wright, Beth Wolfe and her daughter, Cynthia Peatross, visiting from Shreveport, Roz Pactor, Kym Jackson, Katherine Poncilc, Sophie Lark, Kathy Hood, Denise McLing and Phyllis Rodriguez.
