Mountain high: A Houston hospital celebrates its new name in a swank Aspen party
With the official name change from Methodist Hospital to Houston Methodist this week, the reason to party in Aspen was twofold with leadership and docs showcasing the hospital system's new moniker as well as its stellar achievements at the annual "Peak Performances" event aimed at spreading the word on the hospital system.
More than 130 guests gathered on the terrace of a private home on Aspen's swank Red Mountain for the cocktail reception hosted by Houston Methodist president and CEO Dr. Marc Boom. Joining him in the medical schmooze were experts in bone and joint care, brain health, women's health and performing arts medicine. Dr. David Lintner, chief of sports medicine, and Dr. Scott Rand, a sports medicine internist, shared wisdom on maximizing the potential of the human body.
Soaking up the beautiful views from the terrace as well as the medical tidbits were Dr. Julie Boom, Denise Monteleone, Estela and David Cockrell, Lesha and Tom Elsenbrook, Leslie and Jack Blanton Jr., Marcy Taub, Mary Ann and David McKeithan, Debbie and Vidal Martinez, Joyce and Dr. Eric Haufrect, Anita and Stuart Gaylor, Patti and Richard Everett and Celia and Cornelius Dupre.
As part of the summer road show, the Houston Methodist team also made a "Peaks Performance" visit to McCoy Ranch, outside of Vail.
