Checking out cool fashion for hot summer days at the Royalton
Before the monsoon rains began in recent days (thank you Hurricane Alex), the Royalton at River Oaks threw a rocking "Margaritaville" pool party for residents and their friends at the luxury high-rise overlooking Allen Parkway and Buffalo Bayou.
More than 100 guests swam and schmoozed and posed in their beach ball-casual summer threads.
The margaritas, daiquiris and other refreshing drinks served to loosen the inhibitions while yummy Mexican fare from chef Pedro Silva of 5115 Restaurant and Lounge provided sustenance. Guests grazed through a field of fajita tacos, chicken quesadillas, refried beans, chile con queso, salsas and all-American beef sliders.
With the swell infinity pool and surrounding terrace as backdrop, the partygoers included Stefanie Cotton (president of Cotton Properties which co-hosted the party with the Royalton), newlyweds Layne and Michael Callihan, Mick Walsh, Benton Love, Lucky Chopra, Liz and Ed Schlotzhauer, Geraldine Rivers, Nana and Sal Lateef and Terri and Todd Mullen.
