Partying for the Bayou: Hot young professionals take over a beer factory to help Houston's waterways
What:Bayou Preservation Association's Bayou HEROns membership drive.
Where:Buffalo Bayou Brewing Co.
The 411: "The Backyard Bayou Bash" enticed several scores of bayou-friendly young professionals to turn out for a heap of socializing in the name of the city's 22 waterways. A host committee of 18 well-connected YPs helped the association organize the event that featured an assortment of brews to choose from as well as dancing to the sounds of Heapin' Helpin' out of Austin. Sustenance for the partying came in the form of tempting soul food offerings from popular food truck Fraiche Mobile Kitchen. On the menu — pork sliders, sweet potato fries, lamb burgers and more.
The HEROns join the Bayou Preservation Association in its mission to protect and restore area waterways through activism, advocacy, collaboration and education. And let's not forget the parties — albeit fundraising parties.
