Hot cars rev up the party engines for charity at Reliant Stadium
All the vroom, vroom, vroom was over by the time the 400 guests began arriving at the seventh annual "Classy Chassis" sneak preview at Reliant Stadium. The vintage wheels and hot rods had already secured their places on the floor of the stadium that would later welcome thousands to the Concours d'Elegance benefiting Shriners Hospitals for Children in Houston and Galveston.
Founders and chairs of the event Lolly and Clay Becker greeted the sneak peek crowd that — in addition to schmoozing across the East Club of Reliant — was able to get up-close-and-personal with the amazing vehicles. Among the 120 cars featured were a 1966 Chaparral 2E, a 1964 Shelby Cobra, a 1952 Ferrari 212/225 Touring Barchetta and a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport.
Car enthusiasts were also able to meet and greet renowned automotive artist Bill Neale, who donated one of his works to the benefit's live auction.
Before guests became too wrapped up in the fancy wheels, Clay Becker gave a special tribute to the late John O'Quinn, a prominent attorney and car collector who had supported "Classy Chassis" through the years.
Among the first-night visitors were Shauna and Ronny Proler, Darla Lexington, Jim Postl, Bill Lindig, Jim Jard, Aileen Gordon, Kenny Hand, Nancy Ames and Danny Ward and Larry Martin.
