The 411: Louisiana State University's newly-installed president and chancellor F. King Alexander and foundation CEO G. Lee Griffin welcomed LSU alumni, donors and friends to the gathering where the program focused on LSU achievements and university initiatives. They shared details on the foundation's new Center for Philanthropy on the university campus and the goal for doubling fundraising.
Houston is happy hunting grounds for donors as more than 11,000 LSU grads live in the area, the largest concentration of alumni outside of Louisiana. Among those grads are retired Marathon Oil CEO Clarence Cazalot, Jim Flores, CEO of Freeport-McMoRan Oil & Gas LLC. and CultureMap editor-at-large Shelby Hodge.
