The Houston athlete's life: Pro player reveals all in new paintings showcased in unique gallery opening
Suite 396 at 3701 W. Alabama will never be the same. Not since creative force Hanh Tran has taken over the space and filled it with her blisteringly colorful paintings, handbag and jewelry designs along with an effervescent enthusiasm for her work.
Just ask the group that turned out for opening night during which Houston Dynamo defender Michael Chabalaand Tran unveiled their collaborative painting depicting the athlete's life. The vibrant work is on the auction block throughout the summer with proceeds from the sale going to The Rise School. That educational resource for special needs children was also beneficiary of the champagne reception.
In addition to a wealth of her paintings, Tran had a number of her brilliant bracelets and handbags on display. In addition to the online auction of the painting, Rise School supporters can enter a raffle for a chance to win one-of-a-kind Hanh Collection handbags or a personal item from Chabala. The party crowd included artist David Adickes, Stephanie Hoban, Casey Clay, Krystle Collins, Tre Baker, Michael Yafi, Bassel Diab, Kinda Azhari, Roswitha Vogler and Franklyn Barnett, Mary Margaret Kinnan and Brandon Albritton.
