A big birthday, a Mo's bash and World Cup class sight 'ems in the social spotlight
Even the stormy assault Friday night (remember the wind, the torrential rain, the brief power outages inside the Loop) couldn't put a damper on the fun at Tony's. Just ask Michael Trevino.
The government affairs consultant thought he was going to the swank eatery to surprise John Eddie Williams on his birthday. After all, he had seen the printed invitation. But when he and wife Ileana Trevino entered the San Remo Room, the surprise was on Michael. More than 70 of his nearest and dearest had gathered for the assault birthday bash.
Friends came in from across the country and across town for the multi-course feast that was interspersed with dancing to the sounds of songbird Julie Johnson and her musicians. Of course, John Eddie and Sheridan Williams were in on the surprise that was planned by Ileana and the Trevinos' children, Margo, Mari and Miguel. Tony Vallone provided the menu expertise that included those amazing flaming red snappers that received applause, ohs and ahs from the appreciative guests.
Raising glasses in toasts to the birthday were boy were Carol and Michael Linn, Sandy and Dr. Barney, Barrett, Kelli and Marty Fein, Debbie and Vidal Martinez, Betty and Manny Leal, Soraya and Scott McClelland, Patrice Ferguson and John Camp, Barry Mandel, Donna Vallone, Margaret Williams and Jim Daniel and Dr. Mary Riley and Bob Piro.
Party time!
And you thought summer was going to be sleepy time in the city — wrong! Jared Lang, Cara Morales, Nancy Marcus Golden, Laura Casey and Johnny "V" Vassallo are shaking things up this Saturday night with a charity bash at Mo's . . . A Place for Steaks. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society benefits.
That cutie Johnny V has committed 10 percent of Mo's sales profits from that night and 20 percent from every bottle service to the cause. The fundraising includes a silent auction. Kicking the night action up a notch will be American Idol Eighth Season Top 10 finisher Michael Sarver.
Confirm your reservations by calling Mo's at 713-877-0720.
