Launch of handbag collection raises funds for next generation of robots

The 411: Handbag designer Beth Purpich introduced her new JulieBeth handbag collection, with 15 percent of the evening's sales going to the Education Foundation of Harris County. A raffle of goods and services from Basiques, Sterling McCall Lexus, Zayver Jewels, the Houston Texans and BeverlyD Luxe Organic Hair Care raised funds to send a team of students to the All-Earth EcoBot Challenge, a competition at NRG Park that inspires fifth through eighth grade students to learn more about science, technology and engineering by building robots to complete various science-related tasks.
Guests enjoyed wine and light bites from Américas chef David Cordua.
