Young Professionals Go Overboard
Stylish young professionals go Overboard at outdoor nautical party for Hermann Park
What: Overboard with Urban Green.
Where: Lake Plaza at Hermann Park.
The scoop: More than 200 young professionals came dressed in their best nautical attire to support the Hermann Park Conservancy's mission to improve and protect Houston's jewel of a park. A little bit of rain didn't keep guests, several in jaunty boating caps, from dancing to the tunes of DJ MAV at the outdoor party, while some even set sail on McGovern Lake, taking a ride on Hermann Park’s pedal boats.
Guests also dined on light bites and enjoyed the night’s nautically inspired specialty cocktails, the “Slippery Sailor” and “Sink Me Margarita.”
An impressive silent auction items that included an autographed DeAndre Hopkins football and a spectacular golf package at premier Houston-area courses upped the evening's take to a cool $14,000, which thrilled chairs Julia Alston, Laura and Seth Borland, and Holly and Brian Waters.
Who: Enjoying the outdoor party wereUrban Green steering committee chair Jon Sanfelippo, Catherine Bradley, Holly Alvis, Nikki and Robert Hanley, Arthur Bryan II, Adrienne Saxe and Andrew Borches, Brittany Ringel and Nate Walton, Sharon and Jason Griffin, Kevin Dewhurst, Kristen McDanald, Jarrod McCabe, Roxana Fatemizadeh, and Whitney and Brett Bennett.
