The 411: The stars and stripes were shinning proud and bright at the Impact A Hero Hall of Fame Dinner, an annual event that supports veterans who were severely wounded in post 9/11 combat. As part of a weekend-long series of activities in which celebrities are joined by residents to honor those who sacrificed mind and body in the name of freedom, the gala dinner, held on the 50-yard line at Reliant Stadium, bowed to 50 Wounded Heroes and their family members.
Honorary chairs Cal and Hannah McNair, Impact Player Partners board chairman Jim Hoelker plus KPRC Ch. 2 sports director Randy McIlvoy as emcee presided over the reception, banquet and auctions that included the Partner of the Year presentation to Schlumberger. For their bravery, Gunnery Sgt. Samuel Deeds, Sgt. Matt Rios, Lance Cpl. Phillip George, Chief Warrant Officer Thomas Anzo and Sgt. 1st Class Leroy Petry were inducted into the organization's Hall of Fame.
