Art flies off the walls at this first-time gala: Montrose gallery draws a happy crowd
For a first-time event, Bering Omega's Art for Hope Art Auction at Wade Wilson Art came off as a resounding success thanks to the 30 artists who donated work to the cause.
The new fundraiser was a creative riff on the non-profit's successful Sing for Hope, held each fall and scheduled this year for Sept. 21.
On this art-filled evening, more than 200 art aficionados poured in at the Montrose gallery to shop the walls for take-home paintings, drawings and photographs. Gallerist Wade Wilson and Ken General chaired the lively evening.
Thinking art smarts were Bering Omega Community Services board chair Michael Rudelson, Joe Nelson III, Mary and Daniel Snare, Jeff Gremillion, Jared Lang, Sarah Walters and Fernando Aramburo, Tammy Dowe, Paul Pettie, Nick Espinosa and Carlos Meltzer and contributing artists Taft McWhorter, Allison Hunter and Michel Muyell.
