Seeing red and rolling in green, American Heart Association luncheon brings in close to $500,000
What: The American Heart Association's 10th annual "Go Red For Women" luncheon.
Where: Hotel ZaZa.
The 411:Today show nutritionist Joy Baueroffered tips and tricks on how to eat healthy, what foods to choose and which foods to avoid and challenged the 350 guests to answer her nutrition quiz. While heart disease patient Shannon Nickel shared her passion for prevention and research, the luncheon honored every woman who was a survivor of heart disease and stroke. They each wore a tiara as a symbol of their victory over heart disease.
The luncheon was a milestone for KTRK Channel 13 news anchor Gina Gaston as it was her 10th year to emcee the fundraiser. Key players included Men in Red outgoing chair Randy Walker, outgoing Circle of Red chairs Susan Hansen and Beth Wolff and incoming Circle of Red chair Denice Pittman.
