Crafting a legacy: River Oaks luncheon highlights models, jewelry and one-of-a-kind treasures
What: The Houston Center for Contemporary Craft "Crafting a Legacy" spring luncheon.
Where: River Oaks Country Club.
The 411: Victoria Lightman chaired the luncheon that spotlighted the fine art of crafts through a silent auction of jewelry, sculpture and objects created by HCCC artists and by participants in the center's craft-making workshops and through a fashion parade (Neal Hamil models) of artful accessories sold in the center's Asher Gallery. Further accenting the creativity of craft, the centerpieces were one-of-a-kind objects dressed in flowers byDavid Brown. Serving as honorary chairs were Sara Morgan and Ginni Mithoff.
The luncheon honored Pat Oxford, Joanna Wortham, Glen Eichelberger, David Pesikoff, Phyllis Childress and Paula Arnold, each of whom have had pivotal roles in the center's success.
Who: The crafty crowd included HCCC executive director Julie Farr, Marshal Lightman, Alton LaDay, Jonathan Glus, Hailey Eichelberger, Michael Pearson, Delaney Smith, Robert Thomas Mullen, Demi Thomloudis and Caitie Sellers.
