Hot cars, fine watches and beautiful Italian models build LaFerrari anticipation
Interesting how an enticing, limited-edition timepiece by Hublot can generate such must-have enthusiasm, not unlike the pent-up desire for hot wheels from Ferrari that are typically wait-listed due to high demand and limited production. We saw it all last week when those two luxury brands came together at Zadok Jewelers for an elegant evening of magnificent watches and fast cars, celebrating the partnership between the car manufacturer and the maker of fine timepieces.
For the gathering of 100 Zadok customers and Ferrari owners, Hublot pulled out the stops with the event introducing its new Big Bang Ferrari series. The wide sidewalk in front of the Post Oak emporium was carpeted and draped in swags of white silk. Cocktail tables, a full bar and lounge seating were installed. Caterer/event planner Elizabeth Stone mingled through the well-heeled crowd to insure that the lavish hors d'oeuvres kept appetites sated.
Ferrari of Houston provided the metallic eye candy with a number of the Italian beauties parked at the tented entrance. DJ Sun spun the music.
Much of the buzz surrounded the anticipated LaFerrari — price tag $365,000 — of which there will be only 50 in the world.
The swank evening was well-suited for the arrival in the U.S. of the first few pieces from the collection. Even the most sophisticated men and women were swooning over the Big Bang Ferrari Carbon Red Magic (approximately $26,000) of which only 1,000 were made and Big Bang Ferrari King Gold (approximately $43,000) in a limited edition of 500. We are told that at least three pieces from the collection sold that evening. And that had Helene and Dror Zadok wearing very big smiles.
We overheard Jonathon Zadok advising one interested party, "If you really want this one, tell me now because we have another customer who is interested." The entire Zadok family was on board for the party including Segev and Amy Zadok and Gilad Zadok.
Much of the buzz surrounded the anticipated LaFerrari timepiece — price tag $365,000 — of which there will be only 50 in the world and only eight designated for the U.S. That beauty coincides with the arrival of the new LaFerrari wheels with a $1.3 million price tag.
Among those inspecting the watches were Marc Ostrofsky, Tiffany and Rick Smith, Sharon Brier, Michael Yafi, Jackie Nguyen, Nicole Nguyen, Rachel Willis and Jeff Ball, Elise and Mewael Ghebremichael and Peggy and Gilad Jagerman.
