Attorney general and reverend share healing stories at Candlelighters Lights of Courage luncheon
Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott and the Rev. Pitman McGehee eloquently shared their stories and knowledge of healing with guests attending Candlelighters' Lights of Courage luncheon at River Oaks Country Club.
Applause, applause for chairs Katherine Chambers, Brittany King, Maggie Vermillion and Helen Wright for organizing the luncheon that raised $170,000 for the non-profit's programs of providing educational and practical support to families of children with cancer.
Taking bows were Survivor Honoree Courtney Blum, On Treatment honoree Morgan Chambers, Bereaved Honoreee Que Ford and Sibling Honorees the siblings of Walker Woolery. Texas Children's Hospital's Dr. ZoAnne Dryer and M.D. Anderson's Dr. Dean Lee presented the awards.
Supporters included Katie and Bobby Stanton, Linda Evans, Lisa O’Leary, Christy Jennings, Jenna Jackson, Hector Villarreal, Hannah McNair, Roseann Rogers and Hollis Grace.
