Success of Chinquapin Prep celebrated in memorable evening with Ken Starr, Baylor president

The scoop: With a Chinquapin graduation rate of 85 percent and with all graduating seniors accepted to college, there was plenty to celebrate at the event chaired by Holly and Tom Forney, Susan Fernbach, and Peter Boudreaux.
Lisa and Will Mathis, a Chinquapin board member for 23 years, served as honorees of the evening raised more than $320,000. The graduating class walked the stage and announced the colleges they would attend, while the 300 guests gave them all a standing ovation.
Special guest Ken Starr, president and chancellor of Baylor University, praised the students for their success while Khambrel Marshall served as master of ceremonies. Headliners included school director Laura Henry and development director Marilu Garza.
