Kentucky Derby fashion goes over the top at Mo's for Holly Rose Ribbon benefit bash
All eyes should have been on the flat screen TVs during Saturday afternoon's Run for the Roses but the Kentucky Derby crowd that turned out at Mo's . . . A Place for Steaks was so over-the-top, in every way, that people-watching trumped the equine mudfest.
The Kentucky Derby-inspired fashion frolic doubled as a benefit for the Holly Rose Ribbon Foundation. And, of course, its founders and party organizers Cindi Harwood Rose and Dr. Franklin Rose were part of the action.
Mo's proprietor Johnny V (as in Johnny Vassallo) made sure that the mint juleps flowed and the food stations were filled with his tasty steakhouse fare.
Chyra Blackaller and April Zubizarreta chaired the event that saw Bob Boudreaux leading the group of judges in the best hat contest.
Racehorses in this fast-paced crowd included Lily Paxson, Ryad Abu-Taha, Diane and Michael Caplan, Debbie and Rudy Festari, Lori Gralapp Vismara, Lori Freese, Claudia Ximenez, Tiffany Torregrossa, Enrique Salinas andCarolyn St. Clair.
