Designer Handbags
Gucci, Chanel and more sell like hotcakes at annual 'Heroes and Handbags' luncheon
When more than 170 gently-used/never used designer handbags go on the auction block for charity, you know it's going to be a wickedly fun fundraiser. And so it was for the 10th anniversary of the "Heroes and Handbags" benefit for Heroes for Children.
The ladies swooned over designer brands including Hermés, Chanel, Elaine Turner, Jimmy Choo and more, including the highly-coveted Hermés Birkin.
It was just what chairwoman Chay Taylor had planned for the 380 guests who helped raise $190,00 0 for the non-profit that provides financial and social assistance for families with children suffering from cancer. Joining her in the spotlight were honorary chairs Mia Gradney and Sally Flores and guest speaker accessories designer extraordinaire Elaine Turner.
Among those joining the seated brunch following the shopping spree were mistress of ceremonies Chita Johnson, Kelly Silvers, Loretta Horowitz, Kelli Bridges, Megan Stewart, Laura Liang, Meredith Wierick, Diane Cavazos, Melissa Mullin, and Amanda Abiassi.
