The 411: More than 200 guests filled the hotel ballroom to honor Norton Rose Fulbright partner and head of the firm's employment and labor division Shauna Johnson Clark; Bradley Deutser, president of the consulting firm Yaffe | Deutser; Sandra Lopez, social worker and retired professor at the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work, and Houston Yellow Cab, which provides emergency transportation for clients of Crisis Intervention of Houston. The non-profit organization operates the only 24-hour hotline and text line in the city offering crisis counseling and information.
Event chairman Jared Lang raised the excitement level with a promise to double any pledge raised that night and brought in an additional $20,000. Following dinner, the band, Punch Bowl, rocked the room as guests danced into the night.
