Hunky firefighters are Angels on this night: Hot calendar men share honors with Mayor Annise Parker
One wouldn't ordinarily expect to see the hunky Houston Fire Fighter Calendar men posing for photos with guests at a classy evening fundraiser. But when the Houston Fire Department is one of the honorees, it makes perfectly good sense as it did when the Be an Angel Fund held its fifth annual dinner in the Crystal Ballroom of the Rice Hotel.
Fire chief Terry Garrison accepted on behalf of his department, sharing honors with Mayor Annise Parker, the Rise School executive director Janis Stailey and the Faith Center executive director Scotty Sanders. Each was honored for their efforts in helping children.
Chairing the evening that raised $200,000 for programs aiding special needs children was Richard Wainerdi, president emeritus of the Texas Medical Center, working with co-chairs Patsy and Felix Rhymes.
Supporters included Lisa and Joe Turany, Dot and Walt Cunningham, Cindy and John Breeding, Uldine and Dr. John Bisagno, Pam Morse and Dan Pastorini, Yvette Donnell and Bill Shank, Joyce and Ned Piedmont, Mary Jane Zummo, Karen and Ray Solcher, Dale Coburn and Marilyn Romo.
