Marine turned Fortune 500 exec shares his Iraq war stories, keeping bigwigs at rapt attention
Former Marine, author and Fortune 500 exec, Donovan Campbell shared his story of learning and personal growth from combat in Iraq with more than 350 intent listeners, who gathered at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in support of Houston Hospice.
The annual Butterfly Luncheon, chaired by Susan and James A. Baker III, raised more than $200,000 for the non-profit hospice program founded in 1980. Funds raised also support the Butterfly Program of pediatric hospice care.
With Donovan as guest speaker and with former Marine and KPRC Channel 2 news anchor Bill Balleza as emcee, the day followed a patriotic theme, the ballroom decorated in red, white and blue.
Hospice supporters included Hospice board chair Rich Walton, Hopsice CEO Jim Faucett, Sarita and Bob Hixon, Sarah Pitts, Harriet and Joe Foster, Julie Crosswell, Sally and Bob Thomas, Martha Turner and Lynn Wyatt.
