Friends and supporters of the American Cancer Society gathered at the David Yurman Galleria boutique to view the designer's latest jewelry collection and raise awareness in the fight against cancer. In between sipping on drinks and sampling miniature crab cakes, tenderloin of beef crostini, raspberry brownie O's and key lime tartlets, the crowd admired and even tried on 45 pieces from the high jewelry collection as well as baubles from the David Yurman Collection, watches and eyewear.
It was the first such gathering in Houston for Yurman and the American Cancer Society, who have an ongoing partnership and co-host such events across the nation, including at the David Yurman boutique in Dallas last year.
On hand for the festivities were Yurman regional manager Chris Kimbrough, Laura Hand, who heads the American Cancer Society Victory volunteer fundraising branch, and husband, David Hand, and Beth McGarry, co-chair of The Cattle Baron's Ball later this month, the major fundraising gala that benefits the cancer organization.
