Young professionals salute Houston police at party with K-9s, chief and bullet-proof gear
What: An Evening With the Houston Police Department.
The 411: Young professionals filled the party room at the Memorial area steakhouse for a few hours rubbing shoulders with Houston Police Chief Charles McClelland Jr. and other representatives from HPD, including members of the K-9 unit.
Hosted by MetroNational's vice chairman and senior veep Jason Johnson and his wife, Stacy, the evening served to introduce the Houston Police Foundation to the group. In between sipping libations and noshing on treats from Vallone's kitchen, guests could visit with HPD officers and don bullet-proof gear which was brought along for display. McClelland spoke on the importance of the foundation in filling the gap between the HPD budget and vital equipment needs.
