Shelby's Social Diary
These partygoers put on their PJs, had breakfast and raised a bundle for HopeStone Dance Co.
No fancy party frocks required for Hope Stone Dance Co.'s tongue-in-cheek "Breakfast for Dinner" fundraiser that filled the Houston Ballet Center for Dance with partygoers dressed in everything from negligees to PJs.
For benefit chairs Leticia Loya, Kelly Myernick, Shelly Power and Heather Pray, it was the ultimate slumber party. Except that everyone went home after a scrumptious late-night dinner from Catering by Culinaire. Best dressed in the PJ crowd had to be the evening's honorees, Jana and Richard Fant, she in hair curlers and sexy jammies, he in a playful stocking night cap.
In keeping with the theme it was Bloody Mary's and breakfast appetizers for guests, who arrived for an evening of entertainment provided by Hope Stone Dance Co., accompanied by artists from Mercury Baroque, as well as by the Kid's Play Ensemble, Hope Stone's arts outreach scholarship program. The kiddos displayed their talents in opera, under the direction of Ana Trevino-Godfrey and drumming under the direction of Chris Howard.
Staying awake past their bedtimes were Hope Stone CEO Jane Weiner, board chair Michael Bartha, Beth Muecke, Melissa Hobbs, Tom and Mary Jane Farrar, Julie Fette, Jamie and Shannon Mann, Alison Jefferies and Lorenzo Cohen, Kellie and Rich Jenks, Jason Presley, Matt Harris and Leigh McBurnett.
