International Mothers Day Soirée kickoff party heralds 12 amazing women
What: LCA Houston's 5th Annual International Mothers Day Soirée kickoff party.

The scoop: A large crowd gathered for "Bubbles & Bites" and the announcement of 12 Houston women representing a diverse range of backgrounds who will be honored at the International Mothers Day Soirée at the Asia Society Texas Center on May 11. The honorees include Merele Yarborough, Dr. Monira Kundi, Toni Tate, Denise O'Brian, Ishwaria Mohan Subbiah, Shabnam Shaikh, Jill Shull, Carrie Brandsberg Dahl, Brigitte Kalai, Jane Seam, Ping Sun and Rekha Muddaraj.
Neiman Marcus' Stacey Swift made the announcement and International Mothers Day Soiree founder and journalist Ruchi Mukherjee welcomed the crowd, telling them how the idea for the gala came about when she wrote a story about Houston's "it" moms for the Times of India. Mukherjee is founder/editor of Lights Camera Action, an online lifestyle society magazine catering to Houston’s diverse community. She reminded guests that the gala will have a "Bollywood chic" theme to mark its fifth anniversary.
