Montgomery County Heart Ball honors first responders and raises close to $1 million

The scoop: With more than 700 black-tie attire guests arriving to party Hollywood style, the evening raised close to $1 million for the American Heart Association. Applause, applause for chairs Tracy and Richard Wilken and auction chair Janet Wong.
The benefit honored five first responder groups from the area and featured survivor speaker Bob Braden, who shared his story of being saved by CPR after suffering cardiac arrest at the gym.
Special recognition was given to Josh Urban, Memorial Hermann The Woodlands CEO; Justin Kendrick, Memorial Hermann The Woodlands COO; Debbi Sukin, Houston Methodist The Woodlands CEO; Charles Hankins, Chief Medical Officer Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands, David Argueta, CHI St. Luke’s The Woodlands CEO; and Dr. Mark Mettauer, American Heart Association Montgomery County board of directors member.
