New luxury apartment complex is center of attention at Da Camera party
Da Camera's recent gala kick-off party turned out to be as much an unveiling ofMarvy Finger's latest luxury apartment venture as it was a salute to artistic director Sarah Rothenberg and the gala chairs, who happen to be Elaine and Marvy Finger.
The Fingers and their numero uno at 2900 West Dallas, the over-the-top personable Sammy Del Real, welcomed around 100 Da Camera supporters gearing up for the April 5 gala in the Art Deco lobby of JPMorgan Chase.
The evening's entertainment showcased Da Camera’s unique mix of music including jazz vocalist Danielle Reich and the Amabile String Quartet. Eager to welcome the Da Camera crowd and newcomers to the neighborhood were Nino's, Vincent's, Whole Foods (literally next door) and Aladdin, each providing festive party food and each within walking distance from the new complex.
So grand is the development with 430 luxury apartments that it has as much the feel of a luxury resort as rental living. Amenities include four swimming pools; outdoor garden patios including fire pits, grilling areas and outdoor HDTV; a two-story fitness center; two-story business center and a resident clubroom. (For the record, one- and two-bedroom units, ranging from 755 square feet to 1,551 square feet, vary in price from $1,700 to $2,550 per month.)
Joining the cocktail party and tour of the new property was interior designer Sherry Zucker (Brittany Blake Interiors), responsible for the public areas and chic model apartments; Houston Rocket Robert Covington; Anna and Hal Holliday; Jean and Bill Luedemann; Stewart Morris; Dr. Kay Shoppa and Carrie and Al Pepi.
