Young Professionals flock to a feast at Houston Zoo — horned owls definitelyinvited
When the Houston Zoo's young professionals patrons group, Flock, throws an event, you can count on energy, fun and a commendable turnout. So it was with Flock's annual Beastly Brunch that drew more than 200 mid-morning revelers to the al fresco happening on zoo grounds.
They feasted on a Mexican buffet and sipped on Grey Goose Bloody Mary's, Saint Arnold brewskies and mimosas. Entertainment included a face painter, tunes from DJ Dave Wrangler and up-close-and-personal encounters with zoo residents.
The biggest treat came for six guests who were randomly selected to feed the zoo’s lion pride.
Joining the feast were critters including a pygmy falcon, an amazingly friendly (and quite sleepy) opossum and a great horned owl. The biggest treat came for six guests who were randomly selected to feed the zoo’s lion pride.
Getting out of bed on this Saturday morning were Claudia Solis, Liz Gorman, Ted Bowen, Jim Peterson, Eliza Wright, Sam Cole, Carey Kirkpatrick, Joel Luks, Jennifer and Erik Pettine, David Rassin, Chris Goins and Fernando Aramburo with Sarah Walters.
Flock membership is $150 and provides access to the zoo 364 days out of the year as well as complimentary admission to at least three special events each calendar year.
