While the venerable social swells, attending the American Heart Association Heart Ball, were settling in for dessert in the ballroom of the Hilton Americas-Houston Saturday night, a younger contingent was gathering on the 24th floor for a rocking continuation of the soirée.
Young at Heart, the heart association's volunteer group of young professionals, sponsored the inaugural Heart Ball after-party, "The Beat Goes On," in the hotel's Skyline Room. Brittany and Travis Cassin and Laura and Ryan Zehlchaired the DJ and lite bites dance party that drew more than 125 late-night partygoers. They began with cocktails in the ballroom foyer at 9 p.m. and then moved onto the real fun around 10 when DJ Ripley started spinning the discs.
The dazzling backdrop of downtown skyscrapers, as seen from the 24th floor, lent a Manhattan vibe to the party. Guests lounged on window seat banquettes, noshed on sliders and calorific desserts and sipped on adult libations.
Joining the party scene were Carrie Carson, Todd Dillingham, Emily Duff, Graeme and Joseph Etzler, Hannah Haden, Ginny and Alex Jackson, Kristen and Lee Nix, Alison and JonathanPlumhoff, Elizabeth and Brian Laborde.
Making this party a winner for Young at Heart were "The Beat Goes On" sponsors Bud Light/Silver Eagle Distributors and Houston Audi Dealers.
