Everyday Hunks vs. Topless Models
Topless models, everyday hunks and the world's best socks give Victoria's Secret angels a run for their money
Victoria's Secret angels had nothing on M Penner's winged parade of six packs and bulging biceps that had the ladies swooning Tuesday night. This Recipe for Success "Men Dress for Dinner: Sox, Love and Rock & Roll" event was a first for the obesity-battling non-profit.
Topless male models wearing white angel wings and undies provided the eye candy while a procession of distinguished and/or rascally gents put forth the stylish entertainment. As might have been expected, State Rep. Gene Wu modeled a smashing tuxedo and even broke into a rare smile during his stroll down the catwalk. Hair stylist Ceron, on the other hand, was all antics as he owned the runway in his casual hipster sophisticate style. Most endearing of all was oilman Bob Bruni, making his modeling debut in fashionable casual wear.
As for his catwalk run, soccer star turned sports executive Brian Chingcould have vied with Adam Levine for sexiest man alive honors. Add Bob Cavnar, Robert Del Grande, Astley Blair, Henry Richardson, DavidPeck, Michael Mithoff, Jerry Lasco and Jared Lang to the beefcake parade.
The one fashion element that tied them all together were colorful socks by designer Vivek Nagrani, his VK Nagrani designs dubbed "the best socks in the world." Nagrani was on hand to assist Murry Penner with the fashion commentary and to present his custom-designed socks for Recipe for Success. The 70 pair sold out almost instantly at $40 a pair with $20 from each sale going to Recipe for Success.
Leisa Holland-Nelson and daughter Laura Max Nelson, chairs of the cocktail party benefit, beamed throughout the night as did Recipe for Success founder and director Gracie Cavnar. Karen Penner, who handles the ladies wear side of things, oversaw the sprinkling of female models.
Loving the off-the-charts fashion scene were Miya Shay,Melissa Mithoff, Donna Bruni, Ellie and Michael Francisco, Paula Mott, Mimi Del Grande, Monica and Darian Lewis, Karina and Carlos Barbieri, Maryam Afshari, Scott Ipsen, Alex Blair, Todd Fiscus, Monsour Taghdisi and Holly A.N. Smith with Austin Alvis.
