TV characters come out of the box to party for TIRR
Check your inhibitions at the door! That seemed to be the only constraint for the TIRR Foundation "TV Thru Time" benefit at the House of Blues Saturday night.
It was a youngish crowd burdened by less reserve than their older charity-benefit counterparts. And that sent the fun quotient through the rafters.
Practically all of the 250 revelers opted for a costume depicting characters from TV land. Steve Thompson in full Richard Simmons exercise costuming (he even had that pathetic patch of hair on his chest) and his girlfriend, Sydney Ealand as Suzanne Somers practically stole the show with their high-energy dance-a-thons. But then there was Jacquelyn Bateman channeling Snooki from MTV's Jersey Shore and Lacey Liedtke as Elin "Mrs. Tiger" Woods.
As chairs of the "Junior VolunTIRRs" benefit, Michel Miller, Lauren Stephens and Lindsey Thomas went the glam route channeling Charlie's Angels in their big hair and '70s getups. But perhaps they went a bit far with the angel wings, particularly since they had no intention of heavenly behavior.
It was rock 'n' roll all night long as Molly & the Ringwalds played to a frenzied dance crowd. (Miss Molly channeled Lady Gaga.) After all, this party was all about imbibing, dancing and checking out the creative costuming.
If there was one costume that seemed to be the girlie fave, it was Gossip Girls' Blair Waldorf, an easy look for anyone with a short skirt and a long mane. Bo Howelland Ramsey Howell were hits as contestants from The Biggest Loser. Brittany Cassin showed up as Vicki the Robot from Small Wonder, Caroline Mark a Smurf-ette, Kristen Nix as Lady Gaga and Matt Gordon as Marvin Zindler.
