Local Mediterranean restaurant set to open in Woodlands with plentiful patio space and more
A growing Houston restaurant group will debut in The Woodlands this month. Local Table’s fifth Houston-area location will open Monday, July 24.
Located at 4223 Research Forest Dr., the new restaurant constitutes an expansive 7,000-square-feet of indoor space along with a spacious, 3,700-square-foot patio, and a 40-seat private dining room. It joins locations in Cypress, Garden Oaks, Fulshear, and a Katy flagship that opened in February.
First opened in 2016, the restaurant builds on the legacy of Hungry's, the popular Mediterranean cafe that has two Houston-area locations (with a third on the way this spring). Shervin Sharifi and Neima Sharifi, who are nephews of Hungry's founder Fred Sharifi, partnered with Hungry's co-owner Ashkan Nowamooz and his brothers Arash and Alex. Additionally, Sue Nowamooz, Ashkan's wife, serves as executive chef for both Hungry's and Local Table.

As one would expect from the Hungry's crew, many dishes include Mediterranean-inspired elements such as a gyro pita, a kebab plate, and hummus. Other selections — including chicken fried chicken, short rib tacos, and a bacon jab club sandwich — takes their inspiration from traditional Southern or Texan fare. Gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan items appear throughout the menu.
A kid’s menu includes options such as penne pasta with chicken, a cheeseburger, and a plant-based bowl. Even better, kids eat free Monday night with the purchase of an adult entree.
“Local Table has become a staple for families in communities across the greater Houston area,” Shervin Sharifi said in a statement. “The Woodlands made perfect sense for our next concept, as the family-oriented neighborhood needed a place appealing to all age groups and to celebrate all of life’s celebrations.”
