Houston restaurant group exports comfort food and Tex-Mex to San Antonio

Los Tios is coming to San Antonio.
Two restaurants that were open for decades in San Antonio recently closed, but the spaces they left will see new life thanks to a famed Houston restaurant group. According to a press release, Adair Concepts plans to bring two of its popular Houston-based restaurants to the Alamo Heights area later this summer.
One of those eateries, Adair Kitchen, will open at 4108 Broadway St., in the spot where Jim’s Restaurant operated for more than 50 years before closing its doors in 2024. With Houston locations in Tanglewood and West University Place, Adair Kitchen serves up homestyle comfort food all day long.
Menu items in Houston typically include chicken and waffles, avocado and chorizo toast, tuna poke bowl, black bean quinoa burger, grilled salmon, and Berkshire porchetta.
Adair Kitchen also has coffee and a full bar, as well as happy hour specials, including signature cocktails and Texas craft beer. Company officials said they focus on using locally-sourced ingredients.
Adair Concepts will also set up Los Tios at 4820 Broadway, where La Madeleine offered French fare for 30-plus years before shuttering at the start of 2025.
Having launched in 1970 before getting acquired by the Adair family in 2000, Los Tios currently serves traditional Tex-Mex cuisine at six Houston-area locations.
Menu items include the signature puffy queso (a fried tortilla stuffed with fillings or topped with queso), prime beef filet, grilled red fish Veracruz, grilled quail, and shrimp enchiladas. Los Tios also has a full bar.
