Like most Houstonians, I have some great—albeit fuzzy—memories of the original Saint Arnold's Brewery off of 290.
Of course, that brewery was closed down in October as Saint Arnold's expanded into the old HISD warehouse just north of downtown, opening at the beginning of November with a spirited coming-out party but forced to cancel the popular Saturday brewery tours while waiting for permitting from the city.
On Saturday, Saint Arnold's held its first-ever tour in the sparkling new facility. Whether you are a member of the Saint Arnold's Army or a newbie looking for holiday entertainment, here's the new tour info:
- Instead of a guided tour taking off at a set time, the brewery will now host an open house, letting people in starting at 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., and shooing the last visitors out at 3:30 p.m.
- Although the space is larger, the capacity limit and amount of seating is the same as the old location, so there may be a wait to enter.
- Tours cost $7 and include a souvenir glass and four beer samples. Anyone under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
UPDATE: Starting Dec. 28, Saint Arnold's will be adding smaller weekday tours in the same format between 3 and 4 p.m.
