Is Late Nite Pie closed for good or is another resurrection in the works?
As George W. Bush would say, "Fool me once, shame on .... shame on you. Fool me twice, you can't get fooled again."
That's how we feel about the weekend shuttering of Late Nite Pie, a college and party crowd staple famous for being open, well, late.
The doors have boarded up with no trespassing signs, a notice says the locks have been changed, and no one is answering the phones, so it looks like this closure is for real.
But we've been caught off guard by a resurgent Late Nite Pie before — once in 2008 when the pizza place moved from its Bagby and Elgin garage to the current location a few blocks away on Tuam, and again last March, when the doors closed for a week before reopening with a new liquor license.
With no word from the owners Mike Bell and Michael Williams, we'll have to see if this is the last of Late Nite Pie, or if it can rise again.
