The Rainbow Lodge beverage director has sourced six of the vintages Wine Spectator has selected as its top 10 of 2015, and he'll be pouring them by the glass. Typically, these wines are so expensive and available in such limited supply that they're only sold by the bottle, but Borel's use of the Coravin Wine System allows him to insert a thin needle through the cork and pour individual glasses without spoiling the rest of the wine.
For those who aren't tempted by the six Wine Spectator wines (see list below), Rainbow Lodge will use the Coravin to pour a glass from almost any bottle priced $150 or higher for 25-percent of the bottle price. The offer is available at dinner Tuesday through Sunday nights.
"I have been wanting to do something like this for a while, and with the announcement of Wine Spectator’s Top Ten Wines of 2015, we felt like the timing was ideal,” says Borel in a statement. “We are all about providing guests with the best dining and drinking experience, and this is going to take our already-strong wine program to the next level."
