Matt Schaub Wins One
Free food alert! New Heights restaurant is giving away French fry burritos — with a catch
Matt Schaub may not be particularly popular in Houston these days, but guys named Matt are in for a special treat this Sunday, Oct. 6.
The newly opened Taqueria Arandas at 920 North Shepherd in The Heights has introduced a new burrito called the "El Mateo." To celebrate, the restaurant will give away a free Mateo to anyone named Matt, Mateo or any other version of the name Matthew.
"(It's) about having fun with your food and not taking things too seriously. And who doesn't love French fries?"
The picture above tells 1,000 words, and most of them are how silly it is to put French fries in a burrito.
"The El Mateo is about having fun with your food and not taking things too seriously," Arandas president Judy Camarena said in a statement. "And who doesn’t love French fries?"
Fair enough. Pair it with a michelada to soothe the pain of too many margaritas the night before.
Don't worry, Matthews of the world. No one will expect any of you to delete your Twitter accounts for getting a free burrito. That's reserved for the Matt (Schaub) who throws game-changing interceptions.
