This high-end Uptown Park spot looks to end Houston Restaurant Weeks with bargain bites
There seems to be something for everyone at The Tasting Room. Wine lovers can savor more than 200 choices from vineyards all across the globe — including dozens of wines by the glass — and food lovers certainly aren't left out.
We sampled the gourmet bites at the Tasting Room's upscale Uptown Park locale where chef Jonathan LeBlanc has prepared a special $20 lunch menu in honor of Houston Restaurant Weeks, which runs through Labor Day.
First course options include the Oven-Baked Goat Cheese made with a chevre (goat cheese) from cheese experts, the Houston Dairymaids. Sweet, red wine-braised black mission figs are combined with salty caramelized onions for a savory start to your meal. Spread the mix on top of accompanying, toasted French baguette slices.

A second starter option is the enticing flavor combination of lemons and artichokes in the Lemon Artichoke Salad. This dish is simple and light — and gluten-free. Spinach is dressed in a lemon artichoke vinaigrette and then topped with summer favorites grilled zucchini and cherry tomatoes, plus marinated artichoke hearts.
Visually appealing with rich flowing colors of rouge, yellow and green, and a main course menu option, Atlantic salmon and cherry tomatoes are served over a sweet, crushed summer corn sauce and a champagne vinaigrette.
The Grilled Chicken Portobello Tower comes with grilled Portobello mushrooms, grilled zucchini, roasted red bell peppers, and a well-portioned grilled chicken breast covered in melted mozzarella cheese. It's all served over a bed of baby arugula, and coated with a sun-dried tomato dressing.
