Houston Restaurant Weeks gets extended: The dining deals go on!
Don't have any plans for Labor Day weekend? Now Houstonians sticking around town have at least one thing to look forward to, as Houston Restaurant Weeks has announced that dining deals at some of the city's best restaurants will be extended through Labor Day, Sept. 3.
The $35 dinners and $20 lunches and brunches will continue to be offered at many of the 170 participating restaurants, but those making reservations should check the HRW website to confirm, since participation in the extension is optional.
However, stretching Houston Restaurant Weeks over one final weekend gives a boost to participants during a traditionally slow weekend and also allows patrons more time to both enjoy the deals and to raise money for the Houston Food Bank.
The goal for 2012 is to raise $1 million for the organization, an increase of 20 percent over the 2011 total. Houston Restaurant Weeks is the largest single fundraiser for the food bank, which serves 53 million meals annually to those in 18 southeast Texas counties.
So whether you are looking for a HRW deal at a new restaurant, a Houston classic, a beautiful space or somewhere serving four courses, you've now got a little more time to try all of the above.
