If the increasing popularity of the annual Houston Restaurants Weeks is any indicator, locals love eating out for a good cause. Capitalizing on this feel-good feasting, the new Uptown Summer Dine Around encourages Houstonians to visit 13 Uptown eateries in support of the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation and its mission to improve the quality of life for Houstonians of all ages through the power of literacy.
Participating Uptown restaurants include Berryhill Baja Grill, Café Annie, Etoile Cuisine et Bar, La Table, Luby’s, McCormick and Schmick’s, Morton’s The Steakhouse, Moxies Grill and Bar, The Oceanaire Seafood Room, Piatto Ristorante, Post Oak Grill, Songkran Thai Kitchen, and Willie G’s. A donation will be made on behalf of participating restaurants and Uptown Houston for each meal sold during the Uptown Summer Dine Around.
Food fans can expect a two-course or three-course, prix-fixe dinner menus, featuring signature dishes and desserts at a special rate of $35 or $45 per person. Prix-fixe lunch menus will also be available for $20 per person at select restaurants.
The tribute to our beloved former first lady is sure to make anyone suffering through the headache of Post Oak traffic feel confident about their dining choice. (No word if the nearby Houstonian Hotel and Spa is offering up Barbara Bush’s cookies as a sweet accompaniment to this promotion.)
