Sizzle, Swizzle and Swirl
Steakhouse favorite plans move to plush new digs near the Galleria
Ruth’s Chris Steak House is closing its 36-year-old location on Richmond and re-opening its doors closer to the Galleria at 5433 Westheimer at Yorktown.
Formerly the home of Prosperity Bank, the space is shaping up to be quite different from the current Ruth's Chris. Spokesperson Erica Normand emails CultureMap that the new site "will have gorgeous floor-to-ceiling windows, a wine mezzanine with a balcony overlooking the dining room and an expanded bar that will allow triple the amount of guests." That should make the restaurants $7 Sizzle, Swizzle and Swirl happy hour all the more attractive. Look for George Rodrigue Blue Dog paintings as part of the New Orleans-inspired decor.
Renovations are expected to cost Ruth’s Hospitality Group Inc. a whopping $5.1 million, as estimated by a public construction permit released by All Texas Permits and reported by Houston Business Journal.
The new location is expected to open in July. No worries though for Ruth’s Chris fans. Normand says the Houston location at 6213 Richmond Ave. remains open for business as usual until the Westheimer location is ready.
