We didn't see this one coming, but Caffe Bello has quietly closed its doors after little more than nine months. (It was only last weekend that the Caffe Bello sign was taking a not-so-subtle dig at Anvil.)
Co-owner Tony Vallone says the closure was a calculated financial decision.
"We didn't do as well as we hoped, and we got an offer to sell, and we sold," Vallone told CultureMap. "Don't read too much into it."
Vallone wouldn't disclose the buyers of the building at the corner of Westheimer and Taft, but says another restaurant is planned there.
Will you miss Caffe Bello, or is Ciao Bello enough? Where will you get your pizzettas now?
