It's cookie time! Tiff's Treats opens its warm cookie delivery service inHouston
How do you make someone from Austin lose their mind? You could describe Arcade Fire as "this cool little indie band I just heard of" or, more deliciously, you could offer them some cookies from Tiff's Treats.
Tiff's Treats has been offering warm, fresh-baked cookies in-store and by delivery since 1999 in Austin, and this Saturday the first Houston location opens in Greenway Plaza. The dessert geniuses offer classics like chocolate chip and snickerdoodle, M&M, oatmeal raisin and white chocolate and almond. There's also brownies, bottled Starbucks drinks, pints of Bluebell ice cream and milk, of course.
When a free preview order was delivered to the CultureMap offices, the cookies were warm, slightly doughy and pretty close to perfect. I couldn't say how well they taste after they cool, because they were devoured pretty quickly, although the metal foil in the delivery boxes does seem to help retain some heat. It's a nice alternative to cupcakes and, um, Edible Arrangements when it comes to gifting something sweet.
Tiff's is hosting a grand opening party on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of The Texas Gulf Coast & Louisiana. At the event, cookies by the dozen will be $3 (they regularly sell for $9.75), with special prizes, and gift cards for the first 30 guests.
All sales at the grand opening must be made in cash only and there are other ordering restrictions (the full list is here).
