Roughly 5,000 hungry fans recently descended on NRG Center to sample bites from the 118 restaurants participating in Rodeo Uncorked, and they definitely didn't leave with empty bellies.
The unofficial kick-off to Rodeo season crowned winners in a multitude of categories, judged by approximately 40 media judges from radio, TV, print, and online, and included among the champions was classic Houston restaurant Ouisie's Table.
The Southern American staple walked away with the title of Lone Star Entree grand champions for its short rib tacos with poblano sauce, and there's good news for those who weren't able to attend the sold-out event.
Ouisie's Table has plans to feature the dish in its revamped happy hour — called Ouisie's Social Hour — that runs from 2-6 pm, Sunday through Friday.
In addition to those mouthwatering tacos, revelers can enjoy $6 hummus, spinach dip, shrimp cocktail, Mediterranean meatballs, mushroom risotto-filled jalapenos, and fish tacos.
Beers are $3, house cocktails are $5, and prosecco, white wine, and red wine are $5 a glass or $15 a bottle. There's even a special deal for select wine plus an appetizer for only $20, and bottles of wine $100 or less are half off on Sundays and Mondays.
