Super Bowl
Super deals for the big game: From burritos to burgers to wings, get SuperBowl-ready
- Giants or Pats? Pick your team and then your cupcakes from Crave.
- Order six or more burritos "in a box" online from Chipotle on Sunday and half ofthem are free.
I don't care how big your TV is, if all you have to eat at your Super Bowl viewing party is a few sad bags of chips and some Bagel Bites, your friends are going to revolt. Don't worry: Whether you want burgers, wings, burritos or even something sweet, Houston restaurants are offering plenty of game-ready party food to-go.
Try to order wings from a packed Buffalo Wild Wings and you'll be lucky to see them before Madonna performs at halftime. Instead, pick up New Orleans-style wings from Beaucoup Bar & Grill.
They have almost a dozen wing flavors, including jerk, hickory barbeque, ranch, lemon pepper and even battered. An order of six starts at $5.50 and 50 wings is $35. If you're still hungry, there are also special Super Bowl packs with other appetizers including the signature crawfish bread.
Who says Super Bowl snacks have to be savory? Crave Cupcakes is offering cupcake packs of red velvet, dark chocolate and vanilla cupcakes
If you're feeding a large crew but don't have a super-sized budget, Chipotle is offering a great deal on Sunday only. Order at least six burritos from the "Burritos in a Box" option on Chipotle.com and the order is half off. So if you pick up 10 burritos, you're only paying for five.
Of course, you could always choose to impress your guests with a homemade favorite like chili. But if you'd rather spend the day tailgating in your living room than watching a pot simmer in the kitchen, order the Super Bowl special longhorn beef chili from Relish by Friday and everyone will still think you are a culinary genius. A quart is $20 and comes with jalepeño cheddar cornbread muffins.
If you want burgers but your grill isn't quite up to par, groups of eight or more can pick up a custom gourmet burger spread from The Counter.
The Burger Bar is essentially the same as the Counter's burger ordering system but made for more people — everyone can choose their own protein (including turkey, chicken and veggie patties) and then add up to three cheeses, four toppings, four sauces and three buns so everyone can create their own ultimate burger for $9.50 each.
And The Counter is making a wager with fans — if the second half kickoff is returned for a touchdown, all Super Bowl Sunday orders made by 5 p.m. are free.
Who says Super Bowl snacks have to be savory? Crave Cupcakes is offering cupcake packs of red velvet, dark chocolate and vanilla cupcakes with blue or red fondant toppers for sweets-loving Giants and Patriots fans.
