Drake finally confirmed as new owner of $15 million Dos Brisas ranch near Brenham

Drake finally confirmed as new owner of $15 million Dos Brisas ranch near Brenham

Editor's note: Although it is confirmed that the Dos Brisas ranch has been sold, a realtor under a non-disclosure agreement clarified that she could not confirm that it was sold to Drake or any other specific party. Robb Report's article references records that connect the property to Drake. The story has been updated.

Drake is reportedly the latest rap icon that can proudly say he's a Texan after purchasing Dos Brisas, a phenomenal 313-acre ranch in Washington located less than 85 miles outside Houston.

As CultureMap reported before the property sold, the $15 million Dos Brisas ranch was originally built in 2002, featuring a grand 14,300-square-foot Mediterranean-style main building. The home is surrounded by gorgeous pecan trees, wildflowers, three stocked ponds, and Peach Creek, providing an abundance of opportunities to enjoy the lovely Texas outdoors.

Several prestigious amenities can be found throughout the property. Drake will surely reap the rewards from the ranch's fully-functioning organic farm, and – if he can find the time – he can employ a new hobby by raising horses thanks to an expansive on-site equestrian facility. For any other outdoor activities, Dos Brisas contains a spacious resort-style pool, hot tub, and a tennis court.

Multiple haciendas are also spread out throughout the ranch, suggesting the rapper could turn the property into an impressive resort business venture if he decided not to keep it all to himself.

Before the buyer snatched up the ranch in October 2023, Dos Brisas had only been on the market for a few months. Its former owners shuttered the formerly famous resort in 2022 after it had been in operation for 17 years. It first appeared on the market in April 2022 with a $17.5 million price tag, which expired in September before it was re-listed at its $15 million price tag in May 2023.

Robb Report was first to report on Drake acquiring the property. Compass agent Tonya Currie, who managed the listing, confirmed the high profile purchase in an email to CultureMap, although she did not use Drake's name. She writes the ranch sold within 90 days at the full list price.

"Dos Brisas is a rare legacy ranch property that offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the right buyer, which we were able to find once we listed it bringing the price in line with the market conditions at the time," Currie told CultureMap.

If Drake can really call himself a Texan, hopefully he'll enjoy living the country life just 45 minutes outside Houston. Rap legends love nothing more than to dote on the city, and Drake is no stranger to sharing his appreciation for Houston with the locals. During his September 2023 concert at the Toyota Center, the Canadian-born superstar claimed Houston was "where everything started" for him, even going so far as to call the show a "homecoming."

"Listen, listen — I’m a be honest with y’all," Drake told the exhilarated crowd at the time. "I get the most nervous for Toronto of course, and the second most nervous for y’all."

He just can't stay away: Drake's most recent return to H-Town was for a star-studded performance at RodeoHouston alongside Bun B, Nelly, Rick Ross, Eve, That Mexican OT, and many more hip hop legends.

The grand main building spans over 14,300 square feet.

The big purchase wouldn't quite make Drake a Houstonian, but it surely would make him a Texan. Maybe a party at Trill Burgers to celebrate?

A property touted as the largest residential tract ever offered in the Heights is on the market. 216 E. 26th St. is a spacious compound with luxe amenities set across eight contiguous lots. Protected by four motorized gates and sprawling over 24,000 square feet, this must-be-seen-to-be-believed property is on the market for $3.6 million and represented by Leann Salmons with Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty.

This warm, inviting home offers luxury living and exquisite details. Prospective owners will find antique wood floors, stained-glass accent windows, and elegant millwork throughout. The entryway has a bay window, leaded glass door, and a grand staircase. A formal living room features views of the outdoors and high ceilings that flood the room with natural light.

An open floor plan connects the kitchen and additional living room, providing plenty of space for entertaining and gathering. A game room upstairs offers endless possibilities. The upstairs primary bedroom has treetop views and a renovated, spa-like bathroom entered via French doors. Like the home’s four other bedrooms, it has its own private porch.

Outside, across the expanse of the resort-like grounds, sits 2,217-square-foot pool house. With two bedrooms and four baths, including two exterior country-club-style full baths, it’s perfect for guests. It also has an arched window, elevator, full kitchen, and billiard/game spaces. A tiki-style grill/bar, putting green, and lighted sport court with pickleball potential complete the outdoor spaces.

Above the garage is an additional one bedroom, one bathroom apartment. On-site guest parking, a circle drive, and a covered pavilion for five cars complete the estate.

This city oasis offers privacy and elegance. Even though it’s close to all that Houston has to offer, its spaciousness makes it a restful retreat.
