Honey Butter, on my!
Whataburger fans have two more reasons to be happy with new supermarket items
Since my family moved to Houston from the Northeast last year, my 16-year-old brother has become a die-hard fan of Whataburger. From the moment he tasted the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit breakfast sandwich, he was hooked. It became such a running joke in my family that I tweeted thanks to the fast-food chain for making him so happy.
Now Whataburger fans (including my brother) have more to get excited about: Two of its favorite products are now available in H-E-B and Central Market stores. The grocery chain is offering a retail version of Whataburger's famous honey butter, which is a key ingredient in the chicken biscuit sandwich, and its premium pork sausage, which is featured in taquitos and its Breakfast on a Bun.
"We've heard loud and clear from our customers, especially on social media, they love the Honey Butter and wanted us to bottle it," Whataburger senior vice president Dino Del Nano said in a statement.
These new items come on the heels of last year's introduction of Whataburger-branded ketchup (in original and spicy versions) and mustard for sale at H-E-B.
We have a call out to the Whataburger folks to find out how much the new items retail for and will update the story as soon as we hear from them.
