Alcohol delivery service Drizly, one of the first in the game, has expanded its Texas reach, launching in Houston and San Antonio this week.
Houstonians can now order liquor, beer, wine, ice, mixers, and accouterments online or through the Drizly app, which is available for Apple and Android devices. There's a flat delivery fee of $5, no matter how large the order — and that includes one-hour delivery and scheduled drop-offs. Customers can also reserve products for in-store pickup free of charge.
The Boston-based service, which launched in 2012, delivers in 40 markets across the country, including Austin and Dallas.
Deliver service extends to these numerous Houston neighborhoods: Bellaire, Spring Shadows, Spring Branch West, Spring Branch East, Spring Valley Village, Hedwig Village, Woodlake, Briar Meadow, River Oaks, Memorial Park, Washington Ave. Greater Heights, Northside, Second Ward, Midtown, East Downtown, Greater Third Ward, West University Heights, Southside Place, Gulfton, Chinatown, Braeburn, Braeswood Place, Belaire, Downtown, Woodway, and the Energy Corridor.
To celebrate the Houston service, which began yesterday (May 11), Drizly is hosting a party at Axelrad Beer Garden on Friday, May 19, starting at 6 pm, with prizes for select lucky guests.
